PRESS: Canada can send Nord Stream turbine after Friday

MOSCOW, Jul 11 (PRIME) -- Canada may send a turbine for the Nord Stream gas pipeline to Germany after repairs on Friday, business daily Kommersant reported on Monday citing sources with knowledge of the situation.

The turbine and a compressing tool are still undergoing tests in Montreal. Transportation from Germany to Russia will require up to two weeks, and installation a few more days.

Before the pipeline’s suspension for maintenance, Russian gas giant Gazprom pumped less than half of the pipeline’s maximum capacity to Germany because of Siemens’ inability to return the Portovaya compressor station’s turbines from Canada after repairs because of the anti-Russian sanctions.
